This is the first time that it took several print outs before the black ink printed evenly and well. Perhaps the cartridge was defective. The color cartridge that was already in the printer continued to print well so I don't think it was a printer glitch.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I mostly do personal projects (making greeting cards for friends and family). I have had a few problems with ink drying out or smearing a bit. Most of the time I am happy with the results. Anytime you get a "bad" cartridge, I have been able to return it with-in the year's warranty and get it replaced, promptly! I have been very pleased with the customer service at this company. I just recently got a new printer with different kind of cartridges, I will find out later how the new cartridges will work for the hobbies that I dabble in. I feel sure they will work just fine.

I have been buying the Epson as well as Konica Minolta and Lexmark for my business for many years. You simply can't beat the price and the quality is excellent. On my most recent purchase of Epson cartridges I decided to check the competitors since I hadn't done it in awhile.
