LD drum Unit for Brother HL 2170W laser printer was not compatiable and would not permit unit to pass the post test. Drum Unit was unusable.
No, I do not recommend this product.

My laser was not printing 100% black and after changing toner, by deduction in reading the manual, it seemed that I needed a new laser drum unit. The product arrived in just a couple of days as indicated. Product looked and seemed great, however the printing was still not a 100% black as when I first bought the printer.
So by deduction, after changing the toner and laser drum and I can only say that I am due for a new laser printer. However, I will not be getting a Brother brand laser printer. This is my second unhappy experience with a Brother laser printer. Both printers issued curling of freshly printed paper (too hot imaging process) and the double-sided printing was always "melting" and smearing, so printing of brochures was not an option.
I work on low-budget graphic design where quality laser quality is essential - no more Brother printers for me, the savings are not worth the headaches.
From here on, I will only purchase Hewlett Packard laser and inkjet printers!

When I first started using these products, the toner and drum light on the printer flickered and then would light up, I continued to use even with lights on it works just fine.
